JSR Builders recently completed the renovation of our Lower North Shore apartment. From the first day we met on sight, through the demolition phase, the build and detailed finish - we couldn't have been more delighted to work with the JSR Team. Demo was done quickly, with an eye to minimising noise/mess for our neighbours. As with every reno unexpected challenges arose (our building is over 100 years old). The team always came to us with the problem AND a solution ... never just the problem. There isn't a straight/flat wall in the whole apartment (... again 100 years old :-) and the attention to detail during the final stages of the project was excellent. The bathroom involved hand laying mosaic tiles and the cabinetry was fully customised. The hard wood floor had to be relayed due to a product fault and JSR liaised with the supplier/installer to ensure we were not delayed or out of pocket. The attic stairs were shipped in from Europe and arrived like a jigsaw puzzle. JSR worked out the assembly instructions and pieced it together quickly. During the final walk around, I really had to be picky to find anything wrong and the few tiny things I found were fixed immediately. JSR liaised with Council, Fire Engineers, Heritage assessors, Certifiers and neighbours with good grace and diplomacy. I would not hesitate to recommend JSR Builders and will use them again for any project in our future. Thank you Jason, Sam and Richard and the whole JSR Team.

JSR Builders were contracted for a full renovation of our three bedroom apartment in Milsons Point, Sydney starting with a complete gutting of the apartment including the removal of several internal walls and archways. Work commenced beginning of May and completed beginning of August. JSR means “Just Simply Reliable” and they lived up to their name. They were on budget, completed on time and their work was of a high standard of quality and detail. We would highly recommend JSR and would not hesitate to use them again. In the handling of our project, their services included: project management, design advice, appointment and co-ordination of trade servicemen, cabinet maker, shower and glass installer, stonemason, carpet layer, wooden floor layer, painter, tiler, air-conditioning installer, electrician and plumber. JSR has access to a wide portfolio of tradesmen with whom they have a continuing relationship and accordingly have a similar ethos of keeping the client happy and who maintain a high level of professionalism and standard of work. From our initial site visit, to assess our requirements, to the last day of work, we worked collaboratively with the friendly JSR team involving frequent contact with the project manager, their design consultant, and each of the subcontractors to achieve the highly successful outcome we were seeking in the renovation. Their services extended beyond carrying out the construction work, they were able to assess the style of finish we desired, the final end-look and our tastes. In doing so they were able to make suggestions for solutions, address our concerns, anticipate potential problems, direct us to suppliers who may have the product we were having difficulty locating and use their experience gained from other projects for our benefit. This collaborative approach extended to all the trades men and a good example was the stonemason, who arranged a meeting with a wholesale stone supplier and we were shown some stock not generally on the market. We chose one for our kitchen bench-top and island. All through the project the JSR team were mindful of the project cost, cost effectiveness when considering options and were practical and pragmatic in their approach. Once the project started there was no down time and the excellent project manager assigned to our renovation project (who also acted as quality control manager) was always on site organizing and co-ordinating the trades men each day. Can’t thank Jason and his team enough. They came to my rescue after my doggy builder walked off the job. Not only did he fix up all the bad workmanship he took the build to the next level in quality (penthouse). Was also sympathetic to the lost time I incurred due to the previous builder and took it upon himself to fast track the finish. The final icing on the cake was the final bilI. JSR builders did a wonderful job in renovating our studio apartment at Kirribilli. The entire unit is now spectacular, including the balcony. The work in the bathroom and kitchen, both involving updating seriously dated electrical work and plumbing was outstanding, creating modern, bright spaces. The tiling was of a particularly high quality. Jason provided clear, sensible advice from the first meeting as to the best features in design and planning and Richard was constantly swift and efficient in responding to any inquiries as to the financial/legal arrangements as they arose. George did a wonderful job overseeing construction and suggesting improvements along the way (e.g. extra gyprocking). Even problems with specifically made stacking doors involving a 3 week delay from the supplier and needing to chase them up in terms of installation did not stop the JSR team from completing a terrific renovation on time and at the quoted cost. Thoroughly recommended.
